Mattress removal in Ontario, CA

Booking takes about a minute. Pick your items and a pickup day, put the mattress out that morning, and we'll load it and take it away. Most of our Ontario pickups are curbside, so there's nothing to wrap and no trip to make.

From there it goes to our local recycling facility, where our team takes it apart by hand. The foam gets baled for carpet padding, the steel springs go to scrap processors, and box-spring wood gets chipped. Here's the whole process if you want to see it.

4. We recycle it.

   Your mattress goes to our local recycling facility and gets taken apart by hand. You'll get a confirmation once it's done.

Booking with us? You can skip this part. Everything below is for handling it yourself — Ontario's rules, the fees and the drop-off options. If we're doing the pickup, the regulations and the recycling are ours to deal with: you leave it at the curb and we take it from there.

1. California already paid for your mattress to be recycled

   California is one of four states with a mattress recycling law, and you paid into it when you bought the mattress — $18.00 per unit on every mattress and box spring sold in the state. That's what makes drop-off free: in the program's own words, "drop off your old mattress at no additional cost at participating locations".

2. Buying a new mattress? The shop has to take the old one

   If you're having a new mattress delivered, California law requires your retailer to offer to take back your old mattress at no additional cost. The retailer has up to 30 days to take back your old mattress, and they can turn it down if it's a health or safety risk. Worth asking before you pay anyone — including us — to haul it away.

3. What Ontario asks for if you use city pickup

   These are City of Ontario's requirements, not ours — they apply if you're putting the mattress out for the city rather than booking a pickup with us.

   • Apartment and condo residents should contact their property/association manager to schedule appointments.
   • Curbside pickup is limited to five (5) large items per appointment.
   • Residents can also report abandoned items on roadways and in alleys by calling Debris Removal at (909) 395-2639 or through the myOntario App.
