If you're having a new mattress delivered, California law requires your retailer to offer to take back your old mattress at no additional cost. The retailer has up to 30 days to take back your old mattress, and they can turn it down if it's a health or safety risk. Worth asking before you pay anyone — including us — to haul it away.

These are Bay Cities Refuse's requirements, not ours — they apply if you're putting the mattress out for the city rather than booking a pickup with us.
- Place all general waste in plastic bags, boxes or cans. NO LOOSE ITEMS!.
- Please place material in front of your home by 6:00 am (Place curbside nearest to the center of your property).
- THERE IS A LIMIT: 1 Cubic Yard per Household (equal to seven 32-gal plastic bags).
- Bay Cities Refuse says: “YOU MUST CALL OUR OFFICE ahead of time to schedule this”.
- Larger items SUCH AS furniture, mattresses’, etc. CAN be collected for an additional fee. are on the accepted list, so the mattress itself is not the problem — the booking is.
- On what they won't take at the curb: NO Hazardous waste , heavy metal, paint, or similar material will be collected.
