Mattress removal in Fort Lauderdale, FL

Booking takes about a minute. Pick your items and a pickup day, put the mattress out that morning, and we'll load it and take it away. Most of our Fort Lauderdale pickups are curbside, so there's nothing to wrap and no trip to make.

From there it goes to our local recycling facility, where our team takes it apart by hand. The foam gets baled for carpet padding, the steel springs go to scrap processors, and box-spring wood gets chipped. Here's the whole process if you want to see it.

Fort Lauderdale and Florida mattress disposal rules

Booking with us? You can skip this part. Everything below is for handling it yourself — Fort Lauderdale's rules, the fees and the drop-off options. If we're doing the pickup, the regulations and the recycling are ours to deal with: you leave it at the curb and we take it from there.

  1. What Fort Lauderdale asks for if you use city pickup

These are Fort Lauderdale's requirements, not ours — they apply if you're putting the mattress out for the city rather than booking a pickup with us.

    • Please empty all appliances and remove or secure refrigerator doors.
    • Place bulk trash at your curb by 7 a.m. on your pickup day, but no earlier than 24 hours in advance of a scheduled bulk pickup.
    • Where to put it: place bulk trash in an accessible area away from parked cars, fences, trees, power lines and other obstacles so large equipment may easily retrieve it.
    • Crews will pick up a maximum of 10 cubic yards, which is a pile of trash approximately 6 feet wide, 15 feet long, and 3 feet high.
    • Bulk trash items placed at the curb more than 24 hours in advance or remaining on your curb for more than 24 hours after your scheduled pickup could result in a City citation.
    • Anything more than 10 cubic yards will not be picked up unless a prearranged pickup is scheduled by calling (954) 828-8000.
    • Furniture, carpet, mattresses, toys, bicycles, refrigerators, air-conditioner units, hot water heaters, stoves, washers, and dryers are accepted. are on the accepted list, so the mattress itself is not the problem — the booking is.
    • On what they won't take at the curb: construction debris is not accepted.

What Fort Lauderdale says about collection

Bulk trash crews provide pickup service once a month on specific days for each of the City's neighborhoods. If you cannot wait for pickup day, you can make an appointment for a special bulk trash pickup. It does name mattresses.
