1. What Pompano Beach asks for if you use city pickup

   These are Environmental Services' requirements, not ours — they apply if you're putting the mattress out for the city rather than booking a pickup with us.

   • Small items should be placed inside your gray garbage cart.
   • Place bulk waste out after 5:00 p.m. the evening before your scheduled collection day or before 7:00 a.m. on your scheduled collection day.
   • Where to put it: place bulk materials within 5 feet of the curb line, at least 5 feet from a neighboring property, and no more than 10 feet from the edge of the street.
   • You get Maximum of 4 cubic yards per address.
   • Property owners have 48 hours to remove the bulk waste or arrange for an additional pickup.
   • Some things they won't take at the curb at all, including construction and demolition debris.

2. Can you take a mattress to the landfill near Pompano Beach?

   Broward County Landfill in Unincorporated Broward County is the nearest landfill, but its page doesn't say whether it takes mattresses — its gate rate is $10.00 per vehicle. Call before you load up. Either way you need a truck and the drive out to Unincorporated Broward County, and a pickup from us is $89 and comes to you.
