1. What Sunrise asks for if you use city pickup

   These are City of Sunrise's requirements, not ours — they apply if you're putting the mattress out for the city rather than booking a pickup with us.

   • Items that are too large or too heavy to safely load will not be collected.
   • Bulk items must be placed curbside no later than 7:00 a.m. on your scheduled bulk trash pick-up day, but no earlier than 7:00 p.m. the previous evening.
   • Where to put it: bulk items may not be placed on, near or against mailboxes, utility poles or fences.
   • Some things they won't take at the curb at all, including construction, remodeling or demolition debris, including all concrete materials and bricks or brickwork; automobile bodies, engines, transmissions, batteries or other parts; horticultural materials from commercial lawn/yard services or other commercial operations.

2. Can you take a mattress to the landfill near Sunrise?

   Broward County Landfill in Unincorporated Broward County is the nearest landfill, but its page doesn't say whether it takes mattresses — its gate rate is Bulk Waste $100.00 per ton, $10 minimum. Call before you load up. Waste Delivered by Residential Customers in Passenger Vehicles $10.00 per vehicle. Either way you need a truck and the drive out to Unincorporated Broward County, and a pickup from us is $89 and comes to you.
