Mattress removal in East Honolulu, HI

Booking takes about a minute. Pick your items and a pickup day, put the mattress out that morning, and we'll load it and take it away. Most of our East Honolulu pickups are curbside, so there's nothing to wrap and no trip to make.

From there it goes to our local recycling facility, where our team takes it apart by hand. The foam gets baled for carpet padding, the steel springs go to scrap processors, and box-spring wood gets chipped. Here's the whole process if you want to see it.

How it works

  1. Book online.

Pick your items and a pickup day. Takes about a minute, and you see the price before you confirm.

  2. Put it at the curb.

Leave it out on your pickup day. No bagging, no wrapping, no plastic required.

  3. We arrive.

Our team shows up in your window and texts you when they're about thirty minutes out.

  4. We recycle it.

Your mattress goes to our local recycling facility and gets taken apart by hand. You'll get a confirmation once it's done.

East Honolulu and Hawaii mattress disposal rules

Booking with us? You can skip this part. Everything below is for handling it yourself — East Honolulu's rules, the fees and the drop-off options. If we're doing the pickup, the regulations and the recycling are ours to deal with: you leave it at the curb and we take it from there.

  1. What East Honolulu asks for if you use city pickup

These are Department of Environmental Services' requirements, not ours — they apply if you're putting the mattress out for the city rather than booking a pickup with us.

    • Follow size and weight restrictions: 6 foot and 60 pound maximum for long items and bundles.
    • Put items out for collection no earlier than 6:00 p.m. the evening before your scheduled appointment day.
    • Where to put it: do not block sidewalks, driveways, drain inlets or roadways.
    • Single family homes are able to dispose of up to five (5) bulky waste items and two (2) metal appliances per separate appliance appointment.
    • Refuse Inspectors will be dispatched to ensure the public is properly following the new bulky item collection program rules and procedures.
    • Description and quantity of items is required. Only items scheduled for pick up will be collected.

What Department of Environmental Services says about collection

Only one appointment per address can be made per month except for Waikiki, where residents can make weekly appointments. For questions or concerns regarding bulky item collection, please call 768-3200. Their page doesn't say whether a mattress counts as an accepted item, so check before you put one out.
