Mattress removal in Hoffman Estates, IL

Booking takes about a minute. Pick your items and a pickup day, put the mattress out that morning, and we'll load it and take it away. Most of our Hoffman Estates pickups are curbside, so there's nothing to wrap and no trip to make.

From there it goes to our local recycling facility, where our team takes it apart by hand. The foam gets baled for carpet padding, the steel springs go to scrap processors, and box-spring wood gets chipped. Here's the whole process if you want to see it.

How it works

  1. Book online.

Pick your items and a pickup day. Takes about a minute, and you see the price before you confirm.

  2. Put it at the curb.

Leave it out on your pickup day. No bagging, no wrapping, no plastic required.

  3. We arrive.

Our team shows up in your window and texts you when they're about thirty minutes out.

  4. We recycle it.

Your mattress goes to our local recycling facility and gets taken apart by hand. You'll get a confirmation once it's done.

Hoffman Estates and Illinois mattress disposal rules

Booking with us? You can skip this part. Everything below is for handling it yourself — Hoffman Estates's rules, the fees and the drop-off options. If we're doing the pickup, the regulations and the recycling are ours to deal with: you leave it at the curb and we take it from there.

  1. What Hoffman Estates asks for if you use city pickup

These are Groot Industries, Inc.'s requirements, not ours — they apply if you're putting the mattress out for the city rather than booking a pickup with us.

    • If the mattress is larger than a twin or full/double mattress (queen or larger), it must be secured in a fold or roll with tape, string, or bungee cords. This allows a single Groot employee to pick up the mattress.
    • On service days, residents must have their materials at the curb by 7 a.m., when collection begins. Groot will not return to pickup toters and bags that are set out late. Residents may not set materials out before 6 p.m. on the night before collection and must remove their toter by 10 p.m. on the day of collection.
    • Bags cannot exceed 32 gallons in capacity, and bags or boxes cannot exceed 50 pounds in weight.
