Mattress removal in Springfield, MA

Booking takes about a minute. Pick your items and a pickup day, put the mattress out that morning, and we'll load it and take it away. Most of our Springfield pickups are curbside, so there's nothing to wrap and no trip to make.

From there it goes to our local recycling facility, where our team takes it apart by hand. The foam gets baled for carpet padding, the steel springs go to scrap processors, and box-spring wood gets chipped. Here's the whole process if you want to see it.

Springfield and Massachusetts mattress disposal rules

Booking with us? You can skip this part. Everything below is for handling it yourself — Springfield's rules, the fees and the drop-off options. If we're doing the pickup, the regulations and the recycling are ours to deal with: you leave it at the curb and we take it from there.

  1. What Springfield asks for if you use city pickup

These are Department of Public Works' requirements, not ours — they apply if you're putting the mattress out for the city rather than booking a pickup with us.

    • Bulk collection in the City of Springfield is offered only to those residents and properties that pay the City’s annual trash fee.
    • One (1) sticker is required for each bulk item.
    • Items for bulk pick up will be collected by advance phone request only.
    • Refrigerators, air conditioners, dehumidifiers, chairs, tables, cribs, couches, bed frames, sofas, fans, filing cabinets, TV's, plumbing fixtures, doors, windows, bicycles, barbecue grills, large toys, tires, lawn mowers, snow blowers, stoves, washers, dryers, rugs, etc. are on the accepted list, so the mattress itself is not the problem — the booking is.
    • There is a limit of 10 extra bags on any given collection day.
