Mattress removal in Saginaw, MI

Booking takes about a minute. Pick your items and a pickup day, put the mattress out that morning, and we'll load it and take it away. Most of our Saginaw pickups are curbside, so there's nothing to wrap and no trip to make.

From there it goes to our local recycling facility, where our team takes it apart by hand. The foam gets baled for carpet padding, the steel springs go to scrap processors, and box-spring wood gets chipped. Here's the whole process if you want to see it.

Saginaw and Michigan mattress disposal rules

Booking with us? You can skip this part. Everything below is for handling it yourself — Saginaw's rules, the fees and the drop-off options. If we're doing the pickup, the regulations and the recycling are ours to deal with: you leave it at the curb and we take it from there.

  1. What Saginaw asks for if you use city pickup

These are Mid Michigan Waste Authority's requirements, not ours — they apply if you're putting the mattress out for the city rather than booking a pickup with us.

    • Lay your mattress and box spring on top of each other, flat on the ground. Do not stand them against a tree or near poles. Do not place any other items on top of the mattress/box spring.
    • Bulk items should be placed at the curb, along with other properly prepared materials, no later than 7:00 am on your regular service day.
    • MMWA residents are allowed up to two bulk items per week.
    • MMWA does not schedule bulk pick-up in advance.

  2. Can you take a mattress to the landfill near Saginaw?

People's Landfill in Birch Run is the nearest landfill, but its page doesn't say whether it takes mattresses. Call before you load up. Either way you need a truck and the drive out to Birch Run, and a pickup from us is $89 and comes to you.
