Mattress removal in Asheville, NC

Booking takes about a minute. Pick your items and a pickup day, put the mattress out that morning, and we'll load it and take it away. Most of our Asheville pickups are curbside, so there's nothing to wrap and no trip to make.

From there it goes to our local recycling facility, where our team takes it apart by hand. The foam gets baled for carpet padding, the steel springs go to scrap processors, and box-spring wood gets chipped. Here's the whole process if you want to see it.

How it works

  3. We arrive.

Asheville and North Carolina mattress disposal rules

Booking with us? You can skip this part. Everything below is for handling it yourself — Asheville's rules, the fees and the drop-off options. If we're doing the pickup, the regulations and the recycling are ours to deal with: you leave it at the curb and we take it from there.

  1. What Asheville asks for if you use city pickup

These are City of Asheville's requirements, not ours — they apply if you're putting the mattress out for the city rather than booking a pickup with us.

    • Once you schedule collection, place the item(s) at your curb by 7 a.m. on the scheduled collection day.

  2. Can you take a mattress to the landfill near Asheville?

Buncombe County Landfill in Alexander is the nearest landfill, but its page doesn't say whether it takes mattresses — its gate rate is pick-up trucks, vans, or small trailers: $53.50 per ton. Call before you load up. All loads passing through Buncombe County Solid Waste Facilities must be covered and secure. Either way you need a truck and the drive out to Alexander, and a pickup from us is $89 and comes to you.
