1. What Cleveland Heights asks for if you use city pickup

   These are City of Cleveland Heights' requirements, not ours — they apply if you're putting the mattress out for the city rather than booking a pickup with us.

   • Wrap all soft furniture, mattresses, and box springs in plastic before setting them out on your tree lawn.
   • Place bulk items on the curb between 7pm on Sunday to 7am on the Monday of your collection week.
   • Where to put it: place all bulk items at least three feet from your refuse and recycling carts and away from any overhead obstructions.
   • Residents may place up to four bulk items for collection at a time.
   • If refuse of any type is set out prior to the regular collection day with no arrangement made with the Public Works Department, a fine may be imposed for a violation of City Ordinances.
   • The fee is $10 per item paid in advance up to a maximum of 10 items.
   • The City accepts couches, chairs, mattresses, box springs, washing machines, dressers, dining tables and chairs, toilets, televisions, refrigerators, and carpets for bulk pickup. are on the accepted list, so the mattress itself is not the problem — the booking is.
   • Any plastic bags that do not fit in your city issued cart will only be picked up through the Bulk Pickup Request Form at a rate of $10/bag with a maximum of 4 bags per pick up.
   • On what they won't take at the curb: The City does not accept bulk collections from large move-outs or clean-outs and does not accept any building or construction debris.
