Mattress removal in Dublin, OH

Booking takes about a minute. Pick your items and a pickup day, put the mattress out that morning, and we'll load it and take it away. Most of our Dublin pickups are curbside, so there's nothing to wrap and no trip to make.

From there it goes to our local recycling facility, where our team takes it apart by hand. The foam gets baled for carpet padding, the steel springs go to scrap processors, and box-spring wood gets chipped. Here's the whole process if you want to see it.

Dublin and Ohio mattress disposal rules

Booking with us? You can skip this part. Everything below is for handling it yourself — Dublin's rules, the fees and the drop-off options. If we're doing the pickup, the regulations and the recycling are ours to deal with: you leave it at the curb and we take it from there.

  1. What Dublin asks for if you use city pickup

These are Rumpke Waste & Recycling's requirements, not ours — they apply if you're putting the mattress out for the city rather than booking a pickup with us.

    • All upholstered items (mattresses and furniture) must be wrapped in plastic when placed at the curb.
    • Residents are asked to place their bins for collection by 7 a.m. on Wednesdays.
    • Option 1 is for them to provide their own container. When doing so, there is a weight limitation of 50 pounds.
    • On what they won't take at the curb: rumpke will not pick up commercial refuse (generated by businesses, contractors hired to perform services for homeowners, etc.).

  2. Can you take a mattress to the landfill near Dublin?

Franklin County Sanitary Landfill in Grove City is the nearest landfill, but its page doesn't say whether it takes mattresses — its gate rate is $39.75 per ton (Direct-Haul, In-District Solid Waste). Call before you load up. All trucks and trailer loads must be fully tarped before entering any SWACO disposal facility. Either way you need a truck and the drive out to Grove City, and a pickup from us is $89 and comes to you.
