Mattress removal in Easton, PA

Booking takes about a minute. Pick your items and a pickup day, put the mattress out that morning, and we'll load it and take it away. Most of our Easton pickups are curbside, so there's nothing to wrap and no trip to make.

From there it goes to our local recycling facility, where our team takes it apart by hand. The foam gets baled for carpet padding, the steel springs go to scrap processors, and box-spring wood gets chipped. Here's the whole process if you want to see it.

Easton and Pennsylvania mattress disposal rules

Booking with us? You can skip this part. Everything below is for handling it yourself — Easton's rules, the fees and the drop-off options. If we're doing the pickup, the regulations and the recycling are ours to deal with: you leave it at the curb and we take it from there.

  1. What Easton asks for if you use city pickup

These are Whitetail Disposal's requirements, not ours — they apply if you're putting the mattress out for the city rather than booking a pickup with us.

    • Mattresses and box springs must be wrapped in plastic.
    • Place trash and recycling curbside the night before your pickup day no earlier than 5:00 pm.
    • Where to put it: no single bag or container may exceed 40 lbs and must be able to be safely handled by one person.
    • Households are limited to one (1) bulk item per week included with service.
    • Whitetail Disposal says: “While it is not required to schedule bulk, our team greatly appreciates advanced notice”.
    • Common household bulk items include, but are not limited to, furniture (sofas, chairs, tables, wrapped mattresses, etc.) and appliances (washer, dryer, stove). are on the accepted list, so the mattress itself is not the problem — the booking is.
    • Each household may place the equivalent of up to (4) four 32-gallon containers curbside per week.
    • On what they won't take at the curb: bulk does not include: Construction Debris Hazardous Waste Electronic Waste.

  2. Can you take a mattress to the landfill near Easton?

Bethlehem Landfill in Bethlehem is the nearest landfill, but its page doesn't say whether it takes mattresses — its gate rate is car $65. Call before you load up. Open vehicles that are not securely tarped will incur an additional $25 fee. Either way you need a truck and the drive out to Bethlehem, and a pickup from us is $89 and comes to you.
