Mattress removal in West Chester, PA

Booking takes about a minute. Pick your items and a pickup day, put the mattress out that morning, and we'll load it and take it away. Most of our West Chester pickups are curbside, so there's nothing to wrap and no trip to make.

From there it goes to our local recycling facility, where our team takes it apart by hand. The foam gets baled for carpet padding, the steel springs go to scrap processors, and box-spring wood gets chipped. Here's the whole process if you want to see it.

West Chester and Pennsylvania mattress disposal rules

Booking with us? You can skip this part. Everything below is for handling it yourself — West Chester's rules, the fees and the drop-off options. If we're doing the pickup, the regulations and the recycling are ours to deal with: you leave it at the curb and we take it from there.

  1. What West Chester asks for if you use city pickup

These are Public Works Department's requirements, not ours — they apply if you're putting the mattress out for the city rather than booking a pickup with us.

    • Public Works employees are not permitted on private property, so bulk items must be placed curbside on the specified day of pickup.
    • Each property is permitted to place one (1) bulk item out for collection.
    • Once the application is submitted with payment the Borough will provide a pickup date.
    • Mattresses, box springs and upholstered items are typically large bulk items are on the accepted list, so the mattress itself is not the problem — the booking is.
    • No extra trash containers or bags may be set out for bulk collection during this week.
