One catch: registration is required, so you can't just turn up.

2. Buying a new mattress? Ask the shop to take the old one

   When your new mattress is delivered, ask your retailer if they will take back your old one — this may be provided at little to no charge depending on the retailer's policies. Unlike California, Rhode Island doesn't require them to, so it's worth asking before you pay anyone — including us — to haul it away.

3. What Pawtucket asks for if you use city pickup

4. Can you take a mattress to the landfill near Pawtucket?

   Rhode Island Resource Recovery in Johnston is the nearest landfill, but its page doesn't say whether it takes mattresses. Call before you load up. Either way you need a truck and the drive out to Johnston, and a pickup from us is $89 and comes to you.
