Mattress removal in Woonsocket, RI

Booking takes about a minute. Pick your items and a pickup day, put the mattress out that morning, and we'll load it and take it away. Most of our Woonsocket pickups are curbside, so there's nothing to wrap and no trip to make.

From there it goes to our local recycling facility, where our team takes it apart by hand. The foam gets baled for carpet padding, the steel springs go to scrap processors, and box-spring wood gets chipped. Here's the whole process if you want to see it.

Woonsocket and Rhode Island mattress disposal rules

Booking with us? You can skip this part. Everything below is for handling it yourself — Woonsocket's rules, the fees and the drop-off options. If we're doing the pickup, the regulations and the recycling are ours to deal with: you leave it at the curb and we take it from there.

  1. Rhode Island already paid for your mattress to be recycled

Rhode Island is one of four states with a mattress recycling law, and you paid into it when you bought the mattress — $20.50 per unit on every mattress and box spring sold in the state. That's what makes drop-off free: in the program's own words, "any amount of units can be dropped off at a participating recycling facility". One catch: registration is required, so you can't just turn up. There's one of those inside Woonsocket, listed below.

  2. Buying a new mattress? Ask the shop to take the old one

When your new mattress is delivered, ask your retailer if they will take back your old one — this may be provided at little to no charge depending on the retailer's policies. Unlike California, Rhode Island doesn't require them to, so it's worth asking before you pay anyone — including us — to haul it away.

  3. What Woonsocket asks for if you use city pickup

These are Woonsocket's requirements, not ours — they apply if you're putting the mattress out for the city rather than booking a pickup with us.

    • Mattresses must still be Dry, Bug Free, Intact and wrapped in plastic.
    • You will schedule a pick up day and place the item on the sidewalk only the night before the pick-up.
