Mattress removal in Mount Pleasant, SC

Booking takes about a minute. Pick your items and a pickup day, put the mattress out that morning, and we'll load it and take it away. Most of our Mount Pleasant pickups are curbside, so there's nothing to wrap and no trip to make.

From there it goes to our local recycling facility, where our team takes it apart by hand. The foam gets baled for carpet padding, the steel springs go to scrap processors, and box-spring wood gets chipped. Here's the whole process if you want to see it.

Mount Pleasant and South Carolina mattress disposal rules

Booking with us? You can skip this part. Everything below is for handling it yourself — Mount Pleasant's rules, the fees and the drop-off options. If we're doing the pickup, the regulations and the recycling are ours to deal with: you leave it at the curb and we take it from there.

  1. What Mount Pleasant asks for if you use city pickup

These are Town of Mount Pleasant's requirements, not ours — they apply if you're putting the mattress out for the city rather than booking a pickup with us.

    • Place separate items in separate piles (place limbs and yard debris in brown paper yard bags in one pile and miscellaneous debris like furniture, metal, and appliances in a separate pile).
    • Debris should be placed on the road by the curb, not on your lawn, manholes or storm drains, at a safe distance from all utilities but not blocking the road for safe travel.
    • Where to put it: never place debris near any utility boxes, cable pedestals, or water meters.
    • NEVER DUMP DEBRIS in or along ditches, or in storm drains!.
    • Their accepted list is furniture, and other non-food items that you are unable to donate or recycle — it doesn't name mattresses either way, so ask before you put one out.
    • On what they won't take at the curb: contractor-generated debris from construction, demolition, remodeling, or landscaping.

  2. Can you take a mattress to the landfill near Mount Pleasant?

You can, but check the price first — it is usually more than a pickup costs. Bees Ferry Landfill in Charleston does take mattresses — municipal solid waste for $100 per ton. All vehicles/materials should be checked in at the Bees Ferry Landfill scale house. Either way you need a truck and the drive out to Charleston, and a pickup from us is $89 and comes to you.
