1. What Myrtle Beach asks for if you use city pickup

   These are City of Myrtle Beach's requirements, not ours — they apply if you're putting the mattress out for the city rather than booking a pickup with us.

   • All items need to be placed in a neat pile at the curb. All loose items need to be containerized to prevent materials from being scattered during pick-up.
   • City code requires that bins or rollout containers for solid waste and recycling be placed at curbside no earlier than 6:00 p.m. the day before collection and no later than 6:00 a.m. on the day of collection.
   • Where to put it: please keep bulk waste piles three-to-five feet from other items set out for collection.
   • Two cubic yards of bulk waste and yard waste.
   • Their accepted list is appliances, furniture and boxes or bags of miscellaneous household items can be set out with the regular garbage. — it doesn't name mattresses either way, so ask before you put one out.
   • On what they won't take at the curb: no construction and demolition materials will be accepted! This includes brick, block, rubble, concrete, dirt, shingles, sheets of plywood and other lumber materials.

2. Can you take a mattress to the landfill near Myrtle Beach?

   Horry County Solid Waste Authority in Conway is the nearest landfill, but its page doesn't say whether it takes mattresses — its gate rate is Solid Waste (MSW) $47.50 per ton. Call before you load up. Either way you need a truck and the drive out to Conway, and a pickup from us is $89 and comes to you.
