Mattress removal in La Crosse, WI

Booking takes about a minute. Pick your items and a pickup day, put the mattress out that morning, and we'll load it and take it away. Most of our La Crosse pickups are curbside, so there's nothing to wrap and no trip to make.

From there it goes to our local recycling facility, where our team takes it apart by hand. The foam gets baled for carpet padding, the steel springs go to scrap processors, and box-spring wood gets chipped. Here's the whole process if you want to see it.

How it works

  3. We arrive.

Our team shows up in your window and texts you when they're about thirty minutes out.

La Crosse and Wisconsin mattress disposal rules

Booking with us? You can skip this part. Everything below is for handling it yourself — La Crosse's rules, the fees and the drop-off options. If we're doing the pickup, the regulations and the recycling are ours to deal with: you leave it at the curb and we take it from there.

  1. What La Crosse asks for if you use city pickup

These are Harter's Quick Clean-Up's requirements, not ours — they apply if you're putting the mattress out for the city rather than booking a pickup with us.

    • Large items shall not be placed for collection by the City. Disposal of large items shall be the sole responsibility and at the sole expense of the parcel owner.
    • Items should be placed at your regular refuse collection point by 5 a.m.
    • Large items are no longer picked up as a city-serviced collection, this also includes items left illegally on your property.

What Harter's Quick Clean-Up says about collection

Once all fees are paid, collection is by route, bi-weekly, the same day recycling is collected. It is the resident's responsibility to dispose of large items either by calling a contractor of your choosing or hauling to a drop-off location such as Harter's Quick Clean-Up or the County Landfill. Mattress - LAX (Additional Surcharge) $54. It does name mattresses.
