Mattress removal in Madison, WI
Booking takes about a minute. Pick your items and a pickup day, put the mattress out that morning, and we'll load it and take it away. Most of our Madison pickups are curbside, so there's nothing to wrap and no trip to make.
From there it goes to our local recycling facility, where our team takes it apart by hand. The foam gets baled for carpet padding, the steel springs go to scrap processors, and box-spring wood gets chipped. Here's the whole process if you want to see it.

What Madison asks for if you use city pickup
These are City of Madison Streets Division's requirements, not ours — they apply if you're putting the mattress out for the city rather than booking a pickup with us.
- Separate metal items and appliances from non-metal items like furniture & lumber.
- Put your items out for collection on the set-out Sunday you chose in the work order. Do not set items out early.
- Where to put it: keep large items 4 feet from trees, cars, utility poles, mailboxes, fire hydrants, and other obstructions.
- Items must be less than 8 feet long.
- If items are dumped illegally on your property, it is a crime. Report this to the Madison Police Department.
- You must complete the work order before setting the items out for pickup.
- Think of it like couches, mattresses, tables, pianos, tires, microwaves, air conditioners, fence posts are on the accepted list, so the mattress itself is not the problem — the booking is.
- On what they won't take at the curb: as of January 1, 2025, the Streets Division no longer provides large item collection for multi-family properties with more than 8 units.
